What clients say about my counselling and teletherapy services.

Katty won the “Best of Paso Robles Award” in the category of Counseling and Mental Health 4 Years running (1999-2022)! She’s recently moved to Arroyo Grande and is looking forward to offering the same excellent services to those in AG, Nipomo, Shell Beach, Pismo Beach, Avila, San Luis Obispo, and Santa Maria!

“Katty is a great therapist and a wonderful couples counselor. She has a real knack for working with people and helping them to understand what really underlies their thoughts, beliefs, actions, and behaviors. She is great, whether working individually or with a partner, and time spent with her has been extremely helpful and healing. I would recommend Katty without reservation.” – Healthgrades

“Katty is without a doubt, the best to go to. I will say if you are having problems or issues in your life, she will get you through them. I have been to other people in the past but my experience here was perfect. Katty actually listens to you, figures out what the issues are and, gets you going on the right path to feeling better. Something that I really appreciate about her is her listening skills and her ability to recall about things you have discussed in past sessions. It really ties everything together and helps make your experience a very positive one. She really makes you feel comfortable about being open and you can really talk about everything and feel safe about it too. Her technique is the best one I have ever delt with and I would recommend her to anyone who is having troubles in their lives. She can help! No doubt about it. And if I ever feel the need to talk to her again, I would give her a call without hesitation. She’s the best!” – Yelp

The following is an unsolicited testimonial that touched my heart and clearly demonstrates the impact my work can have for individuals and couples.  Details have been omitted for confidentiality reasons.  No wording was changed, but I did shorten and bold for purposes of highlighting EFT outcomes:

“When my husband and I started therapy with Katty, our 20 year marriage had progressed past the fighting stage, to the unhappy and empty ignoring stage. Life was dismal, we were angry with each other and our marriage was soon to fail.

We were very nervous about going to therapy, and unsure of what to expect. We had heard stories from other couples about their bad or unproductive therapy sessions with other therapists. I know my husband & I presumed that the other partner was at fault, but we knew that the finger would be pointed at us too. Katty put us at ease immediately. It quickly became clear that her approach did not involve blame. No partner was right or wrong in the marriage. After our first few sessions, my husband and I began to look forward to our weekly meetings. EFT was exactly what we needed and Katty was exceptional.

Katty was so insightful. I was always amazed at how she could read my mind, and help me express the ideas that were stuck in the back of my brain. I have never been a good communicator and it was so nice to have her help me. She was always there to stop a miscommunication between my husband and I. When a discussion would get out of control, she would slow things down and allow each of us to communicate our needs, to ask questions and to help us understand what had gone wrong. …

We learned to understand our emotions and our needs, and how to communicate those needs to our spouse. We learned to spot emotional triggers and how to de-escalate them. She helped us find ways to avoid disconnection and to allow my husband and I to get back in sync with each other. I watched our empty, unhappy marriage gradually fade from anger and blame to a place of peaceful discussions about each other’s needs and feelings. Our marriage is once again filled with love and understanding.

Katty (Coffron) Richardson was wonderful to work with. If it hadn’t been for her, I know my husband and I would be divorced. I can’t say enough good things about her and her approach to marriage counseling. We no longer need our counseling sessions, but it is so nice to know that we can contact her in the future if we need a refresher or little help with those special problems. She is our “safety net”!

I highly recommend Katty (Coffron) Richardson to anyone who needs help and guidance with any problem.”
